Golden Flower Chinese Herbs (Traditional Chinese Medicine)
We are pleased to introduce you to Golden Flower Chinese Herbs. Golden
Flower Chinese Herbs is considered an
exceptional line of Chinese Herbal Formulas designed by clinicians and
manufactured in the United States using
select Chinese Herbs. John Scott, DOM, and Lorena Monda, DOM, started
the company in 1990. John and Lorena have been
involved in the field of Complementary Medicine since the late 1970's.
John has been a practicing acupuncturist and
herbalist since 1982, and Lorena since 1984. Golden Flower Chinese Herbs
was created to meet the need for high
quality, reasonably priced formulas, made domestically, without the
impurities or questionable ingredients found in
some patent formulas.
Golden Flower Formulas use the highest quality raw materials. They are
selected for freshness and verified to insure
that the correct species, and part of the plant are used. The tablets
are also tested at independent laboratories
for pesticide residues, microbial activity and heavy metals. The herbs
then go through a number of steps to
concentrate them, and to make their active ingredients more available
for the body to use. The precise formulation percentages are given so practitioners and patients know exactly what
they are prescribing or taking.
Many of the formulas are traditional, classical Chinese prescriptions.
Others are modifications of traditional
formulas, adapted to better address the modern patient. Some are new
formulas based on traditional strategies for
modern complaints. All the formulations and modifications are made by
John Scott. All the new formulations go
through a period of clinical testing in prototype form before they are
made available.

Applied Kinesiology
Applied Kinesiology (AK) is a treatment that uses basic muscle testing
for evaluating areas of dysfunction within
the body. AK uses the principle that the body is a self-maintaining,
self-correcting mechanism.
In the treatment, the strength of various muscles is evaluated, and any
weaknesses are traced back to their
structural, chemical or mental cause.
When a person has ill health, at least one of these factors is involved
and often two. The principle of AK is to
analyse and check all three factors and treat any which are disrupted.
An example of this is a person suffering with
long-term intestinal irritation. Nutritional balance within the body
will be severely disrupted due to malabsorption
problems. Low back pain will be evident due to the dual nerve supply to
the lower back and the intestines. There
will also be stress related elements that further exacerbate the
symptoms. It is imperative in the treatment of this
person that all three aspects are analysed and balanced in order to to
restore the 'triad of health', and to restore
the person to complete fitness.
Dr H. Goodheart Jr. D.C. introduced the use of manual muscle testing to
evaluate body function in 1964. Since then,
research into and knowledge of AK has expanded considerably, providing
many additional dimensions to the diagnosis
of bodily dysfunction.
Even in the early days of AK, it was apparent how the many basic
treatment method in Osteomyology, Manipulative
Therapy, Homeopathy, Nutrition and Herbal Medicine produced immediate
improved muscular function, which could be
directly measured using manual muscle testing.

Homeopathy
Homeopathy is a gentle, complete holistic system of treatment, based on
natural and scientific principles dating
back to the first days of medicine. A Homeopathic treatment focuses on
you, the whole person, and enables
homeopathic remedies to be selected on the basis of all aspects of you
the patient and your symptoms. This means
each and every treatment is unique and individual - like each person.
Homeopathy works on the principle of using like to cure like. In other
words, it treats illness with medicine made
from a substance that would produce similar symptoms in a healthy
person. For instance, an onion can cause runny
nose and watery eyes. A Homeopath may prescribe Allium Cepa Homeopathic
Remedy, which is derived from red onions, to
treat someone with hay fever.
Homeopathic Remedies are unique potent energy medicines drawn mainly
from plants and minerals and are non-toxic,
thus safe for humans and animals alike. This is because the active
ingredient is used in a specially prepared form.
It is therefore safe for use during pregnancy, labour, babies, young
children, the elderly and the chronically ill
patients.
We specialise in providing tailor-made Homeopathy remedies, made
from scratch for each individual, which greatly increases the
effectiveness of the treatment. Please phone for more details.

The
Reiki Precepts
What is Reiki?
The practice of Reiki is an original method of healing, developed by
Mikao Usui in Japan early in the 20th century.
Reiki’s natural healing energy works on every level, not just the
physical, and promotes the body’s regenerative
self-healing ability.
The Japanese word Reiki means ‘Universal Energy’. Eastern medicine has
always recognised and worked with this
energy, which flows through all living things and is vital for health
and well-being. It is known as ‘Ki’ in Japan,
‘Chi’ in China and ‘Prana’ in India. Acupuncture, T’ai chi and Yoga are
other systems based on the free-flow of this
energy in a person.
What can Reiki do for me?
The energy of Reiki can be used to great effect in many ways. Whether
you are suffering from stress or tension, and
the many symptoms associated with this, or you wish to improve the
quality of relationships at home or work, the
beneficial effects of Reiki occur on many levels. Reiki can accelerate
the healing of physical problems, balance the
emotions, and free you from restrictive mental attitudes.
Reiki encourages and supports positive personal change such as improving
the diet, having more rest, exercise or
leisure time, and may reduce the need for alcohol and tobacco. Reiki can
allow us to respond more calmly to all
events, and build on a more resourceful state of being. Reiki is a
gentle energy and may be used safely by all ages,
including the newborn, pregnant mothers, surgical patients, the frail
and the elderly, regardless of their state of health. Reiki can enhance everyday life, and regular sessions help to
ward-off illness and fatigue.
Reiki is also a very effective way of ridding the body of the toxins
that accumulate in our bodies due to our modern
unhealthy living, as during treatment these are expelled by the energy
flowing through the body.
Reiki is a non-invasive therapy that can be used without fear of any
side-effects or overdose. It may be used with
confidence alongside conventional medication or natural remedies because
it acts in a complementary way.
In the Western world, Reiki has traditionally been used as a whole body
treatment thus being a holistic therapy. It
is always good to balance out the energy of the whole body, although for
some ailments only a few hand positions are
really needed. For example, minor complaints such as headaches or
stomach pain can easily be treated effectively in
around 20 minutes. This also applies to sore muscles, bruises and other
relatively minor physical problems.
What happens during a session?
A session usually lasts about 45 minutes to an hour and is carried out
with the client lying down or sitting, in a
comfortable and peaceful environment. There is no need to remove any
clothing. The practitioner places their hands
gently, in a series of positions, on or over the body. The client's body
automatically draws in only as much Reiki
as is needed; using it in whatever way is most appropriate at the time.
Reiki may be felt as a flow of energy, mild tingling, warmth, coolness, other sensations, or nothing at all. Reiki
is deeply relaxing, eases stress, and has a
calming effect. Treatment is enhanced if one can rest for a while
afterwards and drink plenty of water to help the
body detox. The energy absorbed during treatment will continue to do its
work after the session ends and so the
beneficial effects may be felt for several days.
How many treatments will I need?
While Reiki is very effective, it is not a miracle cure, and the effects
of treatments build up cumulatively. To experience the full benefits of
Reiki, a course of 3 one hour-long sessions is recommended. This is
usually enough to resolve stress, tension, anxiety, sleeplessness and
emotional problems but some physical
conditions may take a little longer. Reiki generally produces long-term
beneficial changes so there is no need to
keep coming back for endless sessions, although once you have
experienced how wonderful it feels you may want to
keep coming back anyway!
How can I learn Reiki?
The ability to channel Reiki cannot be learnt from a book or by
instruction. To be able to receive Reiki, students
go through an initiation, which 'attunes' them to the Reiki energy. Over
time this connection is improved through
practice on others, and by using the Reiki energy on themselves for
self-treatment. It is considered essential to
treat oneself with Reiki once attuned, and indeed many people use it
exclusively for reasons of personal
development, healthcare and stress-management.
During an attunement, a Reiki Master opens up the energy channels of the
student with the use of Reiki symbols, thus
giving them the ability to connect to Reiki and channel it whenever they
want.
This process is not exclusive, as anyone can be attuned to Reiki
regardless of their spiritual or religious beliefs.
Additional stages of attunement, and the use of the Reiki symbols,
further enhance the practitioner's ability to
utilise the Reiki energy and focus it for specific purposes.
Attunements (incl. Training and Certificates)
Reiki Level 1 £50
At this level you will be given four separate attunements as well as
information on how to use Reiki on yourself and
others. You will also get a chance to practice using Reiki to get
accustomed to the energy.
Reiki Level 2 £100
At this level you will be given one attunement and three Reiki symbols
to increase the flow of Reiki and to do
distant healing. You will also get a chance to practice with the
symbols.
Reiki Level 3 £150
At this level you will be given one attunement, a Master symbol and be
taught how to attune others to Reiki.

Reflexology
Reflexology is the art of treating the whole body through massaging
reflex points on the foot or hand. It is an
ancient treatment, having been used for millennia in many separate
cultures around the world. It was developed into
its current form by Eunice Ingham in America in the 1930's.
The first part of the treatment relaxes your body so that it starts to
re-balance and unwind. Specific reflex points
are then treated which stimulates your body to increase circulation and
healing response in the affected area. Your
organs are encouraged to work more effectively, and pain is eased.
Reflexology is a very enjoyable experience, and has been found to be
beneficial in treating stress, gastro-intestinal problems, sleeping problems, chronic pain, anxiety and many
other conditions.
Please note: We're unable to treat anyone suffering from Athletes Foot,
Fungal Infections or Verrucas.

Traditional Acupuncture
Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese treatment that involves penetrating
the skin with very thin sterile metallic needles that
are disposed of after use. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine,
the body transmits energy or Chi through
meridians in the body. Health problems develop when these meridians get
blocked. Acupuncture targets more than 2,000
points along these pathways to ensure the proper flow of energy through
the body.
According to Western Medicine, Acupuncture works by
stimulating the Central Nervous System to release
chemicals into the muscles, spinal cord and brain that can alter
biochemicals in a way that relieves pain,
stimulates healing and promotes physical and emotional health.
Acupuncture can help with conditions as diverse as indigestion,
diarrhoea,
anxiety, menopause, infertility, chronic
pain, arthritis, high blood pressure and many more.

Auriculotherapy
Auricular therapy is a modern technique based on ancient Middle Eastern
knowledge. It involves treating nerve points
in the ear with a very small electric current.
It was developed by a French allopathic doctor named Paul Nogier in the
1950's who had seen many Middle Eastern
people have their sciatica treated through a specific point in their
ears.
Through scientific research he found that he could treat a wide range of
both physical and emotional conditions
through these nerve points. He later found that he could also diagnose
various conditions through the ear, as most
points only appear if there is a problem associated with their
respective organ or body part.
In 1980 the World Health Organisation recognised Auriculotherapy as
effective in treating and diagnosing over 300
conditions. It is especially effective at treating pain, addictions and
compulsive disorders such as ADHD, OCD,
Tourette's Syndrome, comfort eating and aggressive behaviour.
Auriculotherapy has a 95% success rate in helping people stop smoking in
just 3 treatments.

Magnified Healing®
There is a constant flow of energy in
Magnified Healing which comes from
the heart of the source, which is considered by some to be God.
This
hands-on healing method uses two forms of intense healing light, a broad
beam and
narrow intense beam. The broad beam is
used on all the systems of the physical body (nervous, lymphatic, circulatory, respiratory, endocrine, skeletal,
muscular, etc) including all cells and electrons by scanning, clearing,
releasing, transmuting and reconstituting. The intense beam is used to extract growths, concentrated
infections and scar tissues.
At least three body systems are treated during a session. The
nervous system is always treated and then at
least two other systems.
This form of healing has helped
transform many
patients' lives who couldn't be helped by other means.
You can remain fully clothed for this treatment.
